Fallout Shelter: Dwellers

INTRODUCTION

In Fallout Shelter the goal is to max out your vault population (200 dwellers) and thus starting to repopulate the world. When you start off the game the tutorial gives you a few dwellers to start out with.  One has 5 Strength (Meant for your power core), one with 5 Agility (Meant for your kitchen), and one with 5 Perception (Meant for your water treatment plant). You also get a few others to start out with to help your vault get started. After the tutorial has ended you will be on you own to build up your population.

WHAT ARE DWELLERS?
Dwellers are the blood of your vault. They produce resources along with gathering items from the waste land. As your dwellers work and collect in the Wasteland they gain XP which is used to level up your dwellers.  Every dweller also has a set of skills know as their SPECIAL. Every dweller has a set number of SPECIAL points when introduced to your vault. These SPECIAL points are used in everything from increasing productivity in production rooms, as well as aiding them in the Wilderness.
Dwellers SPECIALs:
Common Dwellers have 12 SPECIAL Points spread out.
Rare Dwellers have 28 SPECIAL Points spread out.
Legendary Dwellers have 40 SPECIAL Points spread out.

WHY GET MORE DWELLERS?

Increasing your population does a plethora of things for your vault:

1. Increase Production In Resource Rooms. The more people you have working in a production room, the faster the resources will be produced.
*NOTE* SPECIAL level also plays a role in production speed.

2. Unlock New Rooms. At certain populations you will unlock new rooms to build in your vault.

3. Defend Your Vault and Handle Incidents. Having more people in your vault will quickly end incidents such as, Fires, Raider Invasions, and Radroaches Infestations.

4. More People To Send To The Wasteland. Once you have enough people producing enough resources to sustain your population, you can send the extra dwellers out into the Wasteland to gather Weapons, Outfits, and Bottle Caps.

HOW TO GAIN MORE DWELLERS

There are 3 ways to gain more dwellers.

1. Babies. The easiest and simplest way to gain more dwellers is to have a male and female dweller to mate and make a baby. This can be done by putting a male and female dweller in the Living Quarters. After some time they will go in the back and the female will come out pregnant.
*NOTE* Charisma affects how quickly a baby is made. So it is recommended to equip a outfit which gives a Charisma bonus.
*NOTE* Incest is not allowed. You can't mate a dad with a daughter, mom with a son, etc. Placing them in a room together the following message will appear. "How nice it is to spend some time with the family"
*NOTE* A child's SPECIAL is influenced by his or her parents. It is recommended to mate high SPECIAL characters in late game.
*NOTE* Pregnant and child dwellers are invincible. They will not take damage and will run when an incident occurs.
*NOTE* Pregnant women will not fight, so it is recommended not to give them a weapon early on. Instead save the weapon for a male/non-pregnant female.
*NOTE* Kids don't work, so it is important to keep the kid to worker ration under control. If you have too many kids too quickly, it will put a strain on your resources.

2. Radio Station.

3. Lunch Boxes.

SPECIAL DWELLERS
Legendary dwellers are only Unlockable through Lunch Boxes. Each Legendary dweller comes with 40 SPECIAL Points. You'll notice that all the characters are from previous Fallout games and also come with Weapons and/or Outfits from the game as well.
